NASA-Astronauten besuchen die Universität Bremen

We are thrilled to invite Bremen's space students, young professionals, and all space enthusiasts to an extraordinary event: NASA astronauts Randolph (Randy) "Komrade" Bresnik and Christina Birch will visit the University of Bremen
to give a presentation on their experience as an astronaut, an overview of the Artemis program and on NASA's vision on space exploration; followed by a Q&A session to answer your questions!

Prof. Marc Avila, Head of the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) at the University of Bremen, is pleased to host the event and we are looking forward to seeing as many peopple of Bremen’s space community as possible there!

It’s your opportunity to ask a real astronaut about his first-hand experiences. The talk will be in English.

Background information of NASA's visit to Bremen and Randy Bresnik:

The Orion ESM is an integral part of NASA's Artemis Program with the ultimate goal to bring humans back to the Moon. The Artemis III Mission will be the first mission with a crewed landing operation on the Moon – for the first time since 1972.

Randy Bresnik is part of a NASA commission visiting Bremen to participate in the Pre-Shipment Review (PSR) of the third Orion ESM (European Service Module) integrated at Airbus Defence and Space, here in Bremen. Randy spent over 149 days in orbit, served as commander of the ISS and conducted several space walks. 

Chris (Christina) Birch was selected by NASA to join the 2021 Astronaut Candidate Class and reported for duty in January 2022. The Arizona native graduated from the University of Arizona, Tucson, with degrees in mathematics and biochemistry and molecular biophysics and earned a doctorate in biological engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
