Educational Projects
At ZARM we offer a wide range of educational projects in the fields of aerospace, mechanical engineering and physical sciences. Within the framework of your teaching project, you can deepen your knowledge and put it into practice. The focus and scope of the project work can be determined by you - from the detailed development and investigation of technical subsystems to fundamental scientific research. Join us and work in state-of-the-art engineering laboratories - such as our drop tower - or on our computing facilities.
Current Announcements
In the frame of the project Open6GHub, a communication subsystem for a CubeSat Engineering Model will be developed by students. This subsystem is based on a Software Defined Radio (e.g. LimeSDR Mini 2.0 or similar) and a Raspberry Pi Compute Module. The SDR is controlled via GNUradio. The subsystem is developed, built and tested by the group in accordance with the CubeSat formfactor. The aim is a functioning subsystem that can receive and decode telemetry. Knowledge of communication technology, small satellites as well as basic programming and electronics skills are required.
Experience in PCB design is an advantage.
