Space Engineering Master‘s Program

Bremen is one of Europe's major space centers. Internationally renowned research institutes, scientific organizations and global players in space industry form an outstanding and extensive space cluster. Specialists from around the world are drawn to our City of Space. As an answer to the ever-rising demand for highly trained engineers and scientists in research institutes and space industry, the University of Bremen offers the international Master's Program in Space Engineering

Humans on Mars Initiative

The initiative at the University of Bremen investigates how a long-term and sustainable human presence on Mars can be achieved despite the extremely harsh environment and the scarcity of resources. What are the consequences of such an endeavour for Earth, Mars and humanity, and can we learn from Mars to preserve our own planet? In seven cross-disciplinary projects and with a human-centered approach, the scientists focus on the interactions and communication between humans and human-machine mixed teams, on habitats and life support systems, and on the responsible extraction of local resources for the in-situ production of materials and consumables. REXUS/BEXUS Program

3, 2, 1 ... Lift-off for your experiment: The REXUS/BEXUS program takes students out of the lecture hall and brings them onto the launch pad of the Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden. Each year, student teams from universities and higher education colleges across Europe have the opportunity to carry out their own scientific and technological experiments on research rockets and balloons. The program is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA) in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).
